Acupuncture and Colorpuncture Used To Treat PTSD

Acupuncture and a colored light therapy called Colorpuncture are being used to successfully treat PTSD and other conditions related to the intense physical and emotional stress many war veterans face.

Colorpuncture is a non-invasive but powerful treatment modality.  I started using it in my practice shortly after I was certified in Esogetic Colorpuncture in 1997. I was intrigued by Colorpuncture because it could be used with or without acupuncture needles. I liked the idea of being able to offer a treatment option to people who wanted the benefits of acupuncture but were afraid of needles.

Esogetic Colorpuncture is Acupuncture Without Needles

As a licensed acupuncturist certified in Esogetic Colorpuncture, I can tell you that colorpuncture is a healing technique that is very powerful. I often describe it as “acupuncture without needles” because it does not involve any puncturing of the skin.

See for yourself! Here is a video of one of my teachers, Rosemary (Akhila) Bourne performing colorpuncture and discussing the therapeutic benefits for adults and children.

Esogetic Colorpuncture was developed by a German naturopath named, Dr. Peter Mandel, who has conducted over 25 years of intensive scientific research on the uses of colored light, frequency, and vibration for healing.

In 1992, Rosemary Bourne (an acupuncturist and practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine) co-founded the Institute for Esogetic Colorpuncture, USA with fellow colleague and instructor, Manohar Croke, to bring this innovative and effective healing modality to the United States.

I received my colorpuncture certification in 1999 through the IEC, USA, while I was studying acupuncture at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. I continue to incorporate Esogetic Colorpuncture in my holistic health care practice.

It is an especially effective modality for children who are naturally energetically responsive to subtle influences of frequency and vibration.

massagethumbThis category or section of this blog will explore the many modalities available in the complementary and alternative medicine fields. These range from acupuncture and Chinese medicine to chiropractic, naturopathic medicine, energy medicine, to western herbology.

We think it is important to be aware of the many diverse subjects and techniques because you never know which one or group of methods will work for you. It there is anything we have learned over the years, it is that all people are different and unique. There is never only one way to do things, and the more you know about yourself and your own preferences, the better you will be able to match the most relevant and acceptable forms of treatment with your current condition, challenge or healthcare goals.

While we are familiar with the modalities we use in our practice on a daily basis, we also want to give you information about other strategies you might be interested in trying or using for your own health and wellbeing. Therefore, we will investigate and report on other techniques as appropriate to give you all the details for your own decision-making for you and your family.
